Test Proctoring

SFLD Proctoring Test Procedures (Please note that we DO NOT proctor online tests)

Procedures and fees for having a test proctored at the library:

Scheduling Testing Times
Tests must be scheduled with either the Adult Services Librarian or the Youth Services Librarian.  A testing appointment must be scheduled at least one week in advance.  Test times are arranged at the availability of the staff and overall library workload:  at times we may be unable to arrange a testing session within your required time period.  Tests should be scheduled so that they can be completed at least 30 minutes prior to closing.  If a testing appointment needs to be postponed or canceled, please call to  let the staff proctor know of your change in plans.

Deadlines
It is the responsibility of the patron to assure that test packets arrive before the scheduled test time.  Meeting test deadlines is the responsibility of the patron, and he/she should schedule tests well in advance of deadlines, allowing enough time for tests to reach their destination in a timely manner.

Proctoring Form
Prior to the first test, a Proctoring Form (pdf) must be completed.

Privacy For Tests
There are three areas in the library where tests are permitted to be taken.
  • Main Area--index table next to the Reference Desk.  This area has the least amount of privacy for the test taker.  Schedule this area with the Adult Services Librarian.
  • Main Area--study carel on south side of library (in view of the Reference Desk).  This area is a little more private, but patron distractions could occur.  Schedule this area with the Adult Services Librarian.
  • Youth Services Wing--small study room.  This area offers the most privacy for the test taker since it is separate from the main areas of the library.  Schedule this area with the Youth Services Librarian.

Fees
  •  Test Fees:  This service is free to CCRLS library card holders.  Pending charges on your library card must be under five dollars.  A $10.00 service fee, payable in advance will be charged to those without a CCRLS library card.
  • Fax/Mail:  For each test, the patron is responsible for one of the following delivery options: (1) Bring a pre-addressed manilla envelope with sufficient postage (no handling charge); OR (2) Pay $3.00 for library to provide both envelope and postage; OR (3) Pay $5.00 for library to fax (usually faxed same day test taken).
  • No-Show Deposit:  A $5.00 refundable cash deposit is required at least one week prior to the date of the exam.  The deposit will be returned upon completion of the exam.

Disclaimer
The library accepts no responsibility for any problems you may experience related to test proctoring.  We do not guarantee that our proctoring services will meet the requirements of your educational institution or that completed tests will reach their destination by deadlines
