Volunteer

Help us out!
Are you detail-oriented and steady of hand?  Our Cataloging Department needs help putting labels on DVDs and books so we can get them on the shelves ASAP.  Also, we can always use people to help reshelve books and periodicals.  To volunteer at the Silver Falls Library, please give our Circulation Department a call at

503-873-5173.

Friends of the Library

The Friends organization supports the library by conducting fund-raising projects to help purchase books, furniture, and equipment; assisting with special library events; and coordinating bequests and other donations.  The Friends group is an official 501c(3) Non-Profit Organization, so your financial contributions my be fully tax deductible.  If you are interested in joining, pick up a Friends of the Library brochure at the library and fill out the membership form.

Donations

Did someone in your life really enjoy the library and all it has to offer?  Do you want to openly acknowledge a special person or event?  A monetary gift to the library can do just that.  Gift plates "In Honor of," or "In Memory of" will be placed in items purchased with a monetary donation.

Local organizations can support the library and their community with a monetary gift.  It can be designated for needed furniture or equipment, or materials in a particular subject area.

The library also accepts donations of clean, gently used, or new books, DVDs, and CDs, which will either be added to the library collection, or put in the Friends
of the Library book sale.
Please do not donate textbooks, encyclopedia sets more than
5 years old, magazines, or Reader's Digest abridged books.  Also, the library cannot handle large quantities of donations at one time.

Local/Indie Collection

To support, encourage and foster access to Silverton area talent, Silver Falls Library District has created a Local Indie @ SFLD collection. This collection features donated books, music and films from local independent authors and artists.

If you have a book or other item that you think would be perfect for this collection, please fill out this Local/Indie donation form (pdf) and submit it with your item for consideration.  Additional forms are available at the Silver Falls Library Reference Desk.
