Checkout Periods and Renewals

Checkout Periods

The following items checkout for 3 weeks:

  • Books (limit 5 per author and subject for children and young adult books)
  • Magazines (limit 5 per title)
  • Compact Discs 

The following items checkout for 1 week:

  • DVD videos (limit 10 per card)
  • Pamphlets  (limit 5 per subject)
  • Special items such as toddler totes, ukuleles, etc. (other restrictions may also apply)


Most Silver Falls Library materials can be returned at any CCRLS library. Exceptions include:  toddler totes, ukuleles, etc.

Renewing Items/Extending the Due Date

Most items may be renewed for two additional checkout periods unless there is a waiting list.  To avoid a fine, please renew on or before the due date.  Items may be renewed by using any of the following options:

  • Bring items to the Circulation Desk
  • Call the 24 hour phone renewal number at 503-589-7740 or the Circulation Desk during open hours
  • Access your patron account using the online library catalog, or in the library.  

In order to return materials on time, please make a note of your new due date!
